2020 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500 Passenger Van: Pros and Cons

Mercedes Benz Vans

The Mercedes Benz Sprinter – it’s one of the most popular passenger vehicles of all time and has become such a force to be reckoned with. Sprinters come in all shapes and sizes and are some of the most loved transit and passenger vehicles. The 2500 passenger van is truly adored because of its versatility and design. There’s a lot to be said when it comes to this vehicle but what about the pros and cons? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the Sprinter 2500 passenger van?

Pro: It Has a Great Four-Cylinder Engine

The Sprinter has a powerful, four-cylinder engine and it’s truly one of the best features you’ll see with this vehicle. It has a 2.0-liter engine with 188 horsepower behind it. That’s powerful and it’s able to pull along this passenger van with ease. It’s actually an impressive feature to have and it’s smooth so even though it’s a small engine, it’s strong enough to offer great performance. Whether you have one or nine onboard, this van can accelerate and transition from gears nicely. What’s more, it isn’t too loud that you can’t hear yourself think during the drive. Click here.

Con: The Costs Are High

With quality comes costs. Sprinter vans are great but the 2500 passenger van is an expensive brand. You might pay, depending on the exact model, over $44,000 so that’s a real disadvantage. Of course, if you want quality you’ll have to pay for it. For most, they may dislike the price of a brand new model. Fortunately, it might be possible to pick-up a decent used variety for a lot less than $44,000 but that will depend on where you buy. The Mercedes Benz Sprinter isn’t the most expensive model but it’s pretty pricey, nonetheless.

Pro: Many Safety Features to Enjoy

You’ll love this passenger van because it has many features to enjoy – including lots of new safety ones – and it’s easy to use. There’s the blind-spot assist feature and then there’s adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and a 360-degree camera to enjoy using. These really help when it comes to parking and staying safe on the road. You can even enjoy the automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition too. These are fantastic safety features and even though they don’t come as standard, adding them can be useful.

Con: The 4th Row of Seats Offer a Tight Squeeze

Some Sprinter’s come with a 4-row seating guide and if you decide on that last row, you may find it a little unwise. It’s not the most comfortable seat in the vehicle because it’s right above the rear axle and that might prove a little bumpy on a long drive. It’s a somewhat tight squeeze and a little uncomfortable. However, this isn’t needed if you don’t want it and if you choose the Mercedes Benz Sprinter configuration, you could drop this last row, depending on your specific requirements.

Style and Class

All passenger vehicles will have their good points and their bad points; the Sprinter 2500 is no different. However, if you’re interested in buying, you have to compare all points and look at the vehicle from an unbiased view. Look at the good points and the not-so-good points and determine if they outweigh the other. This might help you decide if it’s the right passenger van for you and your family.
